The US Composting Council (USCC) and the Compost Research & Education Foundation (CREF) recently launched a new industry-focused online learning management system, Compost University. The program provides an on-demand educational resource for USCC members and industry professionals looking to advance their continuing education objectives and earn Continuing Education Credits (CECs). The curriculum is a combination of content from USCC and CREF training and education resources, such as conference talks, webinars, short classes and new longer advanced courses. The new platform offers hundreds of digital coursework covering a wide range of business, science, management, safety, and technical topics. Compost University is divided into three levels: an Introductory tier that features basic information on compost manufacturing; an Intermediate tier that applies the basics in the form of case studies; and an Advanced tier that takes a deeper dive into the art, science and business of compost manufacturing.
A 25% first-time discount is being offered through September 30, 2022 to register for a course. USCC membership is not required to enroll and be eligible for the discount, however course rates are significantly lower for members. The USCC and CREF concurrently launched the Compost Scholars program, which facilitates tracking of earned CECs. Learn more at the Compost University website.
